Origins & Mythological Mishaps

The Qilin is a mythical hooved creature from East Asian lore that serves as the ultimate cosmic indicator of a successful campaign. Historically, they only appear when an illustrious leader takes charge or when a family successfully gets their toddler to sleep before 8 PM without a single complaint. Because they represent absolute prosperity and good luck, having a Qilin walk through your yard automatically increases your crops' growth rate and ensures you never roll a natural 1 on your saving throws.

Physical Traits & Quirks

The Scaled Chassis

Combines the elegant build of a deer with the shimmering, protective scales of a dragon. They are completely impervious to scratches, making them excellent for running through thick briar patches.

The Ultra-Gentle Step

A Qilin is so fundamentally peaceful that it refuses to step on a living creature, including insects and grass. They walk by hovering a millimetre off the ground, giving them a floating, bouncy stride that looks incredibly dignified.

The Single Antler

A soft, fleshy horn located right between their ears. Unlike a unicorn's sharp horn, the Qilin's horn is entirely blunt, used primarily to gently nudge wandering toddlers back onto the safe forest path.

Tactical Advantage

Grants a massive luck aura to all nearby companions. Enemies face an immediate penalty to their attack rolls because the Qilin looks entirely too polite and majestic to hit with a sword.
